2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide, operate, and maintain the Turtil CMS platform and our website. This includes processing your demo requests, responding to your inquiries, sending you relevant updates and newsletters (with your consent), personalizing your experience, monitoring and analyzing usage patterns to improve our services, and ensuring the security and integrity of our platform. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share your information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our platform, conducting our business, or serving our users — provided that those parties agree to keep your information confidential. We may also disclose your information if required by law, in response to legal processes, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Turtil CMS, our users, or the public.
4. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational precautions to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes encryption of data in transit and at rest, regular security assessments, and access controls limiting who can view your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.
5. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. These may include the right to access, update, or correct your personal data, the right to request deletion of your information, the right to opt out of marketing communications at any time, and the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details provided below. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable laws.

7. Children's Privacy
Turtil CMS is designed for use by educational institutions and their authorized personnel. Our services are not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information.
9. Turtil Driverz Mobile Application
This section applies specifically to the Turtil Driverz mobile application ("the App"), available on Google Play and the Apple App Store. The App is intended for adults aged 18 and over who drive vehicles for an educational institution ("Institution") that uses the Turtil platform ("Drivers"). The general provisions of Sections 1–8 above apply to the App; this section provides additional disclosures specific to the App’s collection and use of location data.
9.1 Information the App Collects
In addition to the account information described in Section 1, the App collects:
- Precise location — GPS coordinates, speed, heading, and timestamp, sampled approximately every 5 seconds or every 10 metres of movement while a trip is active. Location is collected in the foreground, in the background, and while the device is locked. The App does not collect location when no trip is active.
- Device and diagnostic information — device model, operating system version, App version, push notification token, and crash logs.
The App does not collect contacts, calendar, photos, microphone audio, advertising identifiers, or biometric data.
9.2 Why the App Collects Location
We use Driver location to display the trip in progress, share the vehicle’s live position with authorized Institution staff, and share it with the parents or guardians of students assigned to the active trip. Background collection is required because Drivers routinely cradle the phone or switch apps mid-trip. While background location is being collected, the device displays a persistent notification reading "Turtil Driverz — Trip tracking active".
9.3 When Location Collection Stops
Location collection stops automatically when the Driver marks the trip as completed. Drivers may also revoke location permission at any time through their device settings, though doing so will prevent them from starting or continuing trips.
9.4 Sharing of Driver Location
Driver location is shared only with authorized Institution staff (for trip monitoring) and the parents or guardians of students on the active trip, for the duration of that trip. We do not sell, rent, or share Driver location with advertising networks or data brokers. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.
9.5 Retention of Location Data
Granular GPS data is retained for 90 days after the trip is completed, after which it is automatically deleted. Trip metadata (date, route, driver, timestamps) is retained for as long as required by the Institution. Authentication tokens are cleared from the device when the Driver signs out.
9.6 Students
The App is not directed to children. Driver location may indirectly reveal student pickup and dropoff points; processing of student data is governed by the general provisions of this policy and by Turtil’s agreement with the Institution.
